Pilgrim Women's Fellowship
ALL Women of Pilgrim Church are Welcome.
This group of women has built a rapport of thankfulness for individual growth, faithful fellowship, and outreach within and outside the church. There is room for more women to join us as we study, share life, and express Christian love.
The next monthly meeting will be Monday, November 4, at 10:00am in the Church Library. We will continue the study of They Were Christians: the inspiring faith of Christian men and women who changed the world. The author of this series is Cristobal Krusen. The life story of Jean-Henri Dunant will be presented. Following the meeting, we will share lunch a wonderful lunch at Wally’s Southern BBQ, 3591 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte.
SAVE THE DATE of Sunday, November 10, from 2:00-4:00 pm for our annual Tea for a Cure and Fashion show. This fun and delicious event is co-sponsored by Pilgrim Women’s Fellowship and the Charlotte County Relay for Life Grand Team. Support Cancer research by filling a table for 8-10 people with a donation of $100.
Are you or a friend going through a tough time—emotionally or spiritually? Struggling with a crisis in life? Or simply feeling down?
Consider letting a Stephen Minister help. A Stephen Minister is a member of our congregation who is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray, and walk alongside you during difficult times. It’s confidential, free, and very helpful.
To learn more, talk with Pastor Mike or Stephen Leader Judy Pryer.
The holidays are quickly approaching, our gifted teachers are preparing, and the children are singing in the hallways. We kick off the Holiday season with our annual Food Drive that starts on November 4 and runs until November 15.
This year we are celebrating Christmas a little differently. The Christmas Program will be on a Thursday December 5, at 5:00 pm. Dinner with Santa will be in the Community Center immediately following the program. We are hoping that by combining the two events it will be easier for families to attend both events during this busy season. We hope to see you there!
Just a little note to let you know that the stewardship campaign is just around the corner. The theme of the campaign is “Progression of Faith.” You will be receiving a letter with a pledge card explaining the campaign. In the meantime, your finance ministry is busy working on the first draft of next year’s budget. It is sometimes a daunting task, but the work of our Lord is there and we need to respond.
Once again, I want to thank all of you for your generous support over the last year, both financially and spiritually. Our church family is a direct reflection of our faith, and the strength of our faith is evident.
Pilgrim bells will play through the Thanksgiving season. Come hear and see the wonderful music they make, all for the glory of our Lord.
Please join us for the annual “Hanging of the Greens” on Saturday, November 30, at 11:00am in the sanctuary. Last year when we took all the decorations down, we took photos. Each bin has a photo; therefore, this year, we know where everything goes!!!!
We pray that you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. And please remember: There are those less fortunate than we, and they need our help.
Thank you and God Bless!

ntimidating for many, and suggest you try writing it as a letter of “remember when” or a journal entry.
The 24 stories will be compiled and printed as a daily devotional book shared with the congregation for the Advent season.
The deadline to submit your writing to the church office is November 1.
As a reminder the Search Committee is composed of seven volunteers:
Pastor Ken Ewing
Fellow Pilgrims, I am pleased to say that your Search Committee has talked to nine very well qualified applicants. From that group we picked three for further interviews this week and next. All three are well qualified to fill the role of our permanent pastor.
Therefore, we are close to filling this all-important position for the Pilgrim Community.
More on this as it happens.
